CAD CAM Engineer – CNC Programmer

You will create drawings and CNC programs using the provided CAD/CAM software. As a programmer you will be responsible for determining the manufacturing process of a new product from the fixture/work holding stage to a finished product. You will also be supporting current production and prototypes while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Generate CNC programs using SurfCAM Software
Use of CAD to create part models and geometry as needed
Plan and execute manufacturing processes individually or as a team
Confer with CNC operators to resolve any program errors
Determine optimal tooling and cutting parameters based on material and set-up
Control the handling of CNC programs from the server to CNC machines
Maintain revision and quality control on programs, tool sheets, and setup documentation utilizing SolidWorks PDM
Assist in tooling design, special machinery and/or equipment required for production
Adjust and/ or create machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
Work individually or as a team on continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
High school diploma or certificate equivalency
Experience programming and running N/C Lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and/or Horizontal Machining Centers
3-5 years experience with CAM program required
Must have strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal, written, and platform communication skills
Strong mechanical and manufacturing aptitude
Proficient in accurate use of micrometers, calipers and other measuring tools
