Design Engineer

You will conceptualize and contribute to the design of new cutting-edge products. To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using CAD Software (SolidWorks), with strong attention to detail and a creative flare. It is also important that you have project management skills to meet the daily demands of the role.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficiency in the use of design software to create complex drawings and models
Conceive, design, and initiate new products
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of product design
Responsible for creating original styling designs for company products that meet product function and use requirements
Create CAD models of components using current and accepted practices and procedures
Confer with engineering and other staff to determine design modifications for product improvement
Ensure compliance with the industry’s safety standards
Perform calculations and computer simulations (FEA) to verify functionality of parts
Execute concept development activities with guidance from peers
Provide concepts that are manufacturable, cost effective, and meet all other requirements established by engineering team/product manager
Reverse engineer existing items or products

Qualifications

Proven experience using CAD Software; knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus
Previous experience as a design engineer (min. 2 years)
Must have strong attention to detail
Previous automotive industry employment a plus
Strong mechanical and manufacturing aptitude
Automotive enthusiast a plus
Proficient in accurate use of micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools
Excellent verbal, written, and platform communication skills
